9/11 Memorial Museum

About
The National September 11 Memorial & Museum (commonly known as the 9/11 Memorial & Museum) was established to commemorate the 2,983 people killed during the September 11 attacks of 2001 and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

I joined the Local Projects team as a production associate in 2012 to help produce and install the museum's permanent exhibitions. Unlike traditional historical museums that offered singular or “official” narratives, the team sought to create a collective and emergent story told by those who lived it.

As a production associate, I supported the filming of reflections for storytelling alcoves, tested recording booths to engage visitors in sharing their own 9/11 stories, as well as co-edited and licensed media projected and screened across the museum.

Since its opening on May 21, 2014, the museum has had millions of visitors from around the world.
